Introduction on Tourism in Uruguay

Uruguay is a sovereign state in the southeastern region of South America. It is called “Diamond Country”. Uruguay attracts thousands of people every year.

Montevideo, the capital and the largest city of Uruguay, is one of the most beautiful cities in South America and one of the major ports as well. The city includes the oldest buildings, several museums, art galleries, and nightclubs.

Punta del Este is a city and famous resort with beautiful scenery, located on the Atlantic Coast in the Maldonado Department of southeastern Uruguay. A large number of villas, guesthouses and nursing homes are built here, which attracts a continuous stream of visitors every summer.
